Vivian moved up to a new Sunday School class this morning at church. She immediately joined the other toddlers at the table for a snack as soon as we walked in...they looked so sweet all sitting together at the table that I had to get a picture. I think she had a good time playing with them in a new room. Growing up! It's fun to think that these little ones will be her good friends for a long time (we pray!).

Last week I went with my friend Kari to The Glazed Bisque-It in downtown Roanoke to make handprint and footprint plates for Kate's room. It was fun! It ended up taking a long time because Kate wanted to eat while we were there and also because you have to do three coats of everything you paint. But it was time well spent...the plates will be very cute and I also got to hang out with a great friend! Her son Boston is 6 weeks old and his footprints came out perfect.
Kate HATED the whole process. She screamed the whole time, especially when we tried to get the handprints. After we got some good prints, the lady realized that we used the wrong color pink on one of the hands so we had to do it all over again! Poor Kate. I felt like a terrible mom. Good thing she won't remember it :) But she'll always have the plates!

Even though our girls are so close together in age, there is a huge difference in their size! It's amazing what one year will do for the growth of a baby. Vivian seems like a giant to me now :)

An update! We just got back from a beach trip last night and I have some pictures to post. I left with the girls on Wednesday morning and met my mom in Raleigh (she was already at the beach) so that she could help the rest of the way down (it's a 6 hour drive total). Aaron drove down on Friday night to meet us and hang out for the weekend. It might sound crazy to take a trip like this with a 2 week old, but I really wanted Vivian to have one more chance to play at the beach this summer. It was worth it! She had a great time. It was nice to have Gramme's help for a few days (and Uncle Stephen and Mama Dot were there to help too). The weather was perfect every day. Kate was a trooper and did her usual sleep/eat/diaper change thing there just like she would have done here. The only (small) issue was having to sleep in the same room with her...I didn't get much sleep while we were there. Thankfully, however, we were able to stay in Nan and Danny's trailer so we didn't keep everyone else up all night.

Today Gramme took Vivian to the park to get her out of the house for a little while (it's hard being stuck inside all day!). Even though it was hot, she had a great time. They also stopped by the duck pond in Salem to talk with the ducks, and then to get snow cones! What a fun outing.
