Back in February, the employees and spouses of Interstate Batteries all went out together to celebrate a huge milestone for my dad. 

1 million units sold! 

We had a wonderful dinner together, with memorable speeches, a fun slideshow of pictures from the past 30 years of battery work, and a presentation of an award from two men who came in from Dallas where Interstate Corporate is located. 

My dad is part of a very small percentage of distributors that has reached this milestone. We are all very, very proud of him and thankful for his hard work and commitment to provide for us and make a way for our families!

Hank has had many loves in his life this past year: pacis, Grover, golf, Blue's Clues, trains, raisins, George who pushes carts and bags groceries at Kroger, going in Gramme's car, and candy. But monster trucks so far have proven to be his greatest obsession.

He wants to take them in the car with us. He wants to sleep with them. He wants to play non-stop with them. He has three small ones and a few bigger trucks that aren't monster trucks but are part of his pretend play. He wants to watch monster truck videos on Aaron's phone as soon as Aaron gets home from work. He wants to crush all the cars with them and get the tires muddy. It is sometimes exhausting to hear about and endure the loud noises that he makes with them. But mostly it is hilarious and a joy to all of us to see him love something so intently.
