The anxious but grateful parents. I know you're wondering...what's Aaron doing at the baby shower? It was a couples shower :) There are lots of men in the choir and Sunday school class that we didn't want to leave out! They came for the food and then went off to do manly things while the women helped with gift opening. Aaron was quite the good sport.Baby is not as excited about these gifts as he/she is about...

These three women, including Carissa, are faithful to meet with me once a week to encourage me and each other. We are also studying 1 Peter together. I was glad they could celebrate the baby with us!
Ansley, the baby girl, had to eat too! She belongs to Jody, in the brown dress. Baby Fernandez doesn't know it yet, but Ansley is going to be a great friend.

Thanks to Gretchen for hosting us! She is giving me lots of good advice about parenting...she has 5. She's also helpful with nursery decoration ideas!

Now that baby is satisfied from all the food, he/she says bring on the gifts !
These three girls really blessed me. Cami, Ava, and Gracie were right up front to help move gifts along. I think they were excited about their jobs until their gifts were opened, and then they lost interest and went outside to play.
Opening gifts can be so intense :)
When Aaron arrived to help halfway through, things started moving more quickly. He is so efficient.
The men disappeared from the house after the food was served. Here they can be seen posing for an abercrombie ad (especially Ryan!). Who knows what they're looking at, but I think they spent their time outside or downstairs.
Or playing football.
I don't know what those faces are for, but aren't they sweet?! hehe
The mommies to be had to pose together. Kathleen (on the left) is due at the beginning of December, and Erin is due at the beginning of November. Lots of friends for Baby Fernandez!
On Saturday Granddaddy showed Aaron his new toy in the garage. I think it's called a simulator but the best way I can explain it is that an image from the software on the Mac computer is projected onto this huge screen. You can hit your balls right into the screen and it plays out as if you were on a real golf course. There are many courses from all over the world that you can choose to play, and the computer program tells you how fast you are hitting the ball, how many yards you hit, how straight it is, etc. It's unlike anything we've ever seen! They warmed up with this before they went outside to hit a couple of holes on a real course. 
Meanwhile, the girls went to the spa for special treatment. This place was also unlike anything I've ever seen! It was such a detailed, elaborate process and we enjoyed every second of it. Back in the summer, I went to a luncheon/silent auction that Grandma organized and I bid on a gift certificate to this spa. I actually won the bid, and I've been holding on to the certificate until this perfect opportunity! I was able to have a Maternity Massage and a manicure. Grandma tried a body wrap and a pedicure. The massage was perfect...they even had this precious little lamb on the bed when I walked in, as a gift for baby!
We met up with the men for lunch at The Holly Inn (pictured above) and then they went back to the house to watch the Master's Tournament while we tried to go shopping in Southern Pines (it was pouring rain so we didn't even get out of the car). After an afternoon nap (maybe I was the only who took one...Aaron played 36 holes of golf on the simulator while I dozed), we relaxed until dinner and went to bed a little early. 
Sunday morning we attended their church (where we were married) and had omelets and chocolate chips pancakes for brunch. This picture was taken after lunch on the first hole of the famous #2 Pinehurst golf course.
We went to practice our putts while Aaron practiced his swing before heading back to VA!
