Last night Aaron took me to the Olive Garden to reward me for my faithful cooking services (ha! actually, on Wed. night we did have a fancy tilapia dinner). He was able to impress me with the new muffler that was put on his truck. Afterwards we visited a new part of Atlanta (new to us) in Buckhead called Phipps Plaza...very nice shopping area with a MARBLE SLAB. We got some ice cream (the guy put two scoops of cookie dough on mine...extra treat) and sat outside to enjoy the weather. It was a great date! I took a picture, but I had chocolate all over my face and it's not acceptable to post on the Internet for others to see.
We have made a last minute decision to visit Albany this weekend. We need to do some things around the house (grass!) and get some more clothes :) Have a great weekend!

Last night Aaron and I bought a truck. We visited a man in town that was selling this 1999 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 and it was love at first sight for my hubby. I think there's just a deeply rooted desire in men to have a truck and as the wife I can't deny it...this is one of the important things I've learned in marriage. So, this a great day for us. If you get a chance to talk to Aaron soon, let him know how good-lookin' you think this new toy of his is (I've already told him how good-lookin' he is in it).

28 years ago on Saturday (June 24), my mom and dad got married and made plans to have 4 little babies. We went to the Homeplace on Saturday night to celebrate with them. We missed Stephen! Dad wore his Virginia shirt in remembrance of him, though. This is a really great restaurant that we've enjoyed for years and years. It's on top of a mountain (see picture of Aaron below...he isn't used to being surrounded by mountains and had to have his picture taken) in Catawba.

This weekend I drove to Salem to sell my car to a family friend. They bought it! Kendall, who will be able to drive in August, will take great care of it and we feel good about the trade. I have to admit, though, it was a little sad to say goodbye. This car was my first! It has been very good to me. Aaron will now be able to have a truck (yes, this is sacrificial love at its greatest...my man needs to have a truck!).
On Saturday morning, after 3 trips to get cleaning supplies, our crew got to work. Dad, Joey, Sierra, Aaron, Michael, and I gave all our attention to cleaning the car. It looked beautiful when we were done. Aaron and Joey should go into business together.

Aaron and I are meeting in Salem tonight to spend a day or two! We are trying to sell my car to someone we know there. I promise I'll have pictures to add when I get back!
(My first week on the new job went well. I enjoy it, but everything about life is much better when Aaron is here...)

We had a great weekend together. Friday night we saw the long-awaited Nacho Libre movie (recommended if you enjoy stupid humor as much as my husband does). Saturday we slept late and got some things on my car fixed. We laid out at the pool on Saturday afternoon and Sunday after church! We are getting spoiled :)We received sad news this past weekend, also. Uncle Bob has passed away after battling cancer for more than a year. They are having visitation tonight and the funeral tomorrow in Hope Mills, NC. Aaron is flying out today and coming back on Sunday (he had a meeting for work in Raleigh already scheduled). I will meet him in Salem on Friday night! Please pray for Aunt Julie, Casey, and Joey. It's a great sadness.

Happy birthday Ben! We wish we were in Colorado to celebrate with you (what a great vacation that would be!). Take lots of pictures of your day with your new camera and email them to us. Tell your friends we said thank you for partying with you in our absence.

Aaron's best friend Jonathan recently proposed to his girlfriend Joy! We're hoping to come to Raleigh soon so that we can celebrate with them. They haven't set a definite date yet, but they're thinking sometime in the fall. What a wonderful couple...congratulations!

This week we moved in to an apartment and left our hotel room! It was a relief, to say the least. We are now located in Roswell, Ga, in Walton Centennial. Email me if you want the address. It's working well...yesterday I went to Albany to get some more clothes for us and to transfer some needed things to our new home. I might have some more pictures soon.

Yesterday we went to our first church service in our new home. We will visit another church, but we're pretty excited about Christian City Church that Uncle Charles recommended to us. After church, Aaron treated me to a museum visit... Chocolate, the exhibition at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. Pretty corny-we know. But it was very unique and a woman's greatest dream come true :) They had samples, samples, and more samples! We also got to make our own chocolate lollipop.

Last week Aaron and I were able to come back to Atlanta together. I've just been hanging out, really...I had an interview last Wednesday but haven't heard anything yet. On Thursday night we went on a baseball date and invited Aaron's coworker Alan. The Braves lost, but we had a fun time! Actually, we're going again tomorrow night!

Last weekend (Memorial Day Weekend) we decided late Saturday night to take a trip to the beach on Sunday. We were going to drive down for the day and come back that evening to celebrate my teaching year and paying off our car...both happened on the same day! We drove to Carrabelle because it was the closest. When we got there, we called Gary Barbour because we knew he goes there often and could tell us of a good public beach. It turned out that he was there with his wife and two other couples, and they invited us to spend time with them! They took us out on their boat to another island to spend the afternoon. They also invited us to stay for their low country boil dinner and then the guys wanted Aaron to go fishing with them on Monday. We stayed in one of the couple's camper for the night. Aaron caught the biggest fish of his fishing adventures...a great trip! We were thanking God the entire time for such favor on our little vacation.

Last Saturday Marcela invited us to go to the pool with them. How could we say no to that? We spent a few hours watching these kids have the time of their lives. I missed getting a picture of James jumping off the high-dive.

On Friday, May 26 (yes, the blog has been neglected...we are in transition, sorry!) I finished my first year of work. It was a relaxing workday and I went out to lunch (a treat for teachers) with the ladies on the 4th grade hall where my room is. They had been so helpful to me this year! It was a great feeling to clean out my room that afternoon.
