Aaron wasn't as messy as I was, but we were both marked up with black paint. The cause? Painting our donated table. The result?
We spent most of Saturday afternoon on this project. It was worth it, though, because the table fits really well with the rest of our home.
Friday night we did a lot of work to get the boxes and packing paper out of the place. There was so much paper that Aaron was able to take a running jump into it and land softly.
On Saturday morning we were able to focus on putting all of our things away and hanging pictures, etc. The only problem is that a lot of things are missing (the movers put them in storage instead of the apt.) and some of them are things that we really need.
It feels like a home now. We are finally settled in Atlanta.Come see us!

Yesterday God brought us into His house and we enjoyed the worship and communion. After the service, David and Laurel invited us to a pool party for one of the networks at church. We played in the sun until it was time to come back home to clean up and get ready for the week.

Sometimes life seems uneventful. Sorry to inform you that nothing is happening here that is interesting enough to post for the world to see. We are working, eating, and sleeping. Tonight we might go to Target for a change of pace! ;)
We do have relatively good news, though. It turns out that Waste Industries will take care of the packing of our things in Albany and then move them for us. This is a huge burden removed from us, since both of us are working and couldn't figure out time to do this. It will happen next week! We should have all of our things on Thursday.

Saturday night we went with Marcela and her crew to Chuck E. Cheese. Aaron made it obvious to us all that he's still a boy at heart. He played the whole night, only stopping for the pizza :)
Marcela said that Dominick wakes up every morning pleading with her to take him to Chuck E. Cheese. She said it's a very serious plea...needless to say, he had a blast.

Ariana was content in her role as "the ticket lady."
It was great to visit with these friends. Maybe next time we see them, Derwin will be there!

We snatched our bed from Autumn Leaf Dr. this weekend. The air mattresses weren't cutting it. This is the hole that we left in our bedroom...and right after we took off, our realtor hosted an open house so I was a little embarassed to show it like this. We had a terrible time getting the bed to Atlanta- we didn't have appropriate materials to tie it down, and had to keep stopping to resecure it. We were thankful for that, though, because being held up like that caused us to miss the rain in Atlanta.
There were visitors waiting for us in our apartment, and Aaron had an experience as a mass-murderer. ANTS. They are all over the place. We stayed up way too late last night trying to get rid of them. They are never-ending.

I have enjoyed working on this site...we are thinking about printing it out to keep a record of what's happened (I have lost my passion for handwritten journaling).

As for other news, this is the picture of our pitiful sleeping arrangements I promised to post on Monday:We have separate air mattresses because that's the way it has to be. The one on the right is donated from Tom and Sarah (see earlier post)...even the sheets and blanket. We are hoping to go to Albany this weekend to pack up our things and get the moving company to bring it all here. We need our bed.

Yesterday we really enjoyed church- there was a guest preacher and he told the truth about handling finances. We grilled out at the apartment pool for lunch, and unpacked our few things in the afternoon. After a nap, we headed out to Lawrenceville again to visit other friends. Tom and Sarah (Tom works with Aaron) invited us over for dinner. Their son, Noah, was a great topic of conversation. Before we left, they donated a kitchen table for us to use in our apartment. It was a very kind gesture- now we won't have to picnic on the floor! In the last week, we have realized how helpful it is to have a truck!

Aaron took me to this concert on Saturday night. It was the most entertaining thing I've seen in a long time. Faith Hill was awesome, and when they sang together it was so intense that I found myself holding my breath. It was an incredibly romantic date for us. I took some pictures, but they turned out too dark. Please go see it if you have the chance!

We have moved again. Yes, it's hard for us to believe, too. We had to get out of our corporate apt because they were moving someone else in. We found a great place that is much closer to where we work- right in the middle, so it's fair for both of us. It only took me 11 minutes to get to work this morning!
It didn't take us long to move in...this is what we have to set up our new home. Pretty pathetic! Tomorrow, if I dare, I will post a picture of our sleeping arrangements.

On our day off yesterday, we watched a movie, sat by the pool, watched another movie, took a nap, and went to Lenox Square for their July 4th celebration. It was packed with people and all kinds of vendors. There was a pretty good band that made this guy want to dance (he was the life of the party, standing right in front of us. We had to scoot back so as to not be involved):
It was fun, but it turned out to be sad because a storm blew through and we never got to see fireworks. Is this my first 4th with no fireworks? Can't remember. They might have waited for the storm to pass and then started, but we couldn't stick around...6:15 a.m. alarm.

Aaron and I are praising God for your day of birth just 20 years ago today. We hope you have a memorable day (how could you not?) in Siena.

Oops the Monkey Escapes From Virginia Zoo

ROANOKE, Va. — A Japanese monkey aptly named Oops bolted from the Roanoke city zoo, sparking a park-wide shutdown as staff searched the surrounding forest where they could hear her in the trees.

The 20-pound Japanese macaque and her family were being moved from their holding cells to the exhibit for routine feeding and cleaning when she got away Sunday morning, said David Jobe, education curator at Mill Mountain Zoo. She was still on the run Monday morning.

Over the weekend we relaxed and cleaned up the house. We packed a few boxes to bring with us and organized clothes, drawers, etc. We came up with two big bags of clothing to donate to Goodwill...no reason to move things we never wear to another city and just haul it around with us! Aaron did a great job outside...the house looks great and we ask for your prayers that the right people will come along soon to buy it. On Saturday night we went to Red Lobster with two neighborhood couples to celebrate Mrs. Lou's 4th anniversary of being a cancer survivor. After dinner, she and her husband had us over for brownie sundaes. Hopefully the next time we go down there it will be to pack it all up!
