Just a few random things that are new with our little girl:

-she has no idea what's getting ready to happen at our house with the new little one!

Here she is trying to carry around some favorite toys...can't let one of them go! (excuse the bed head, this was taken first thing in the morning :)) She follows that ball around all over the house.

Yesterday Megan came to visit us for a few hours and we loved her company! Megan and I were great friends in high school and went separate ways for college but still stayed close. She was a bridesmaid in our wedding almost 5 years ago. She lives in Charleston now, so we only get to see her a few times a year, and it's always a treat to catch up!

Vivian kisses her baby brother/sister all the time (when I ask her to, that is). We are praying that they will always be loving and encouraging to one another as siblings (by "always" we mean "in general", or "for the most part"). hehe

*Update*
I just returned from an appointment that revealed a small change...although I'm still dilated only a 1/2 centimeter, I'm about 60% effaced now. Baby is still low. Dr. S said there's a 50/50 chance baby will come before my appt. next Wednesday. :)

This ultrasound photo was taken last Wednesday at the 37 week appointment (sorry I'm so late posting it!). We were very excited about seeing Baby one more time before he/she is born. The face was pretty smushed because there's not much room in there, but it's still a sweet picture to us! Baby scored an 8/8 on the fetal well-being measurements...very healthy. Baby is head-down and sitting very, very low. Because of that Dr. S said that he thinks Baby will come early. I have another appointment today, so we will see if there's any progress.

Kristin and Erin came over for lunch today and brought their little ones to play. Vivian got a kick out of having guests at first, but then seemed to lose interest and play by herself. I guess she's not at the age of being very interactive with other babies yet. That will be a fun thing to look forward to, though!

As for me, I loved having girlfriends over to hang out with! Feeding the twins before they left.

We went out to dinner last night with Ryan, Sarah, Keegan, and Carissa to celebrate Sarah's birthday. Little Cyrus joined us, too! Aaron had to take this picture of the calzone he ordered...almost as big as a 3 month old! It was pretty shocking when the waiter brought it to the table.

Today Vivian spent most of the day at Gramme's while I ran some errands and went to a doctor appointment. She had a blast crawling through this tunnel that Gramme brought out from her Girl Scout events. What a fun toy! Back and forth, back and forth...

Last night Sarah arranged to get me out of the house before the baby gets here by planning a dinner night. Sarah, Carissa, Arin and I went to Logan's for a long dinner and then we went to Cold Stone for dessert. Our conversation was awesome...a little intense and actually scared away the people sitting beside us...but it was great to be encouraged by these godly women. Arin didn't make it to Cold Stone with us so she missed out on the photo op. Thanks for the great idea, Sarah! And congratulations to Carissa, who was just promoted to Manager at the Salem Starbucks! :)

Boston Cloyd Hancock was welcomed into the world on Saturday, July 18th at 1:22 p.m. He weighed 8 lbs, 2 oz and was 20.5 inches long. I went to visit Kari and baby yesterday afternoon and they are both doing great! Kari is so relaxed and ready to be a mom. He's a cute one! And absolutely perfect. God is faithful as Creator.

This weekend we had visitors from NC...Travis and Emily drove up Friday afternoon and we were so glad to have them! They were awesome company for the weekend and we were sad to see them go today after lunch. Emily and I became friends my freshman year at State...she was my Bible study leader through Campus Crusade. We grew closer each year and have kept in touch since graduating. She was also a bridesmaid in our wedding. She is a great encouragement to me!

The four of us get along great. Friday night we had dessert and conversation out on our deck, and Saturday we spent the whole day at the lake. It was a perfect day for it...beautiful weather! Travis couldn't get over the mountainous scenery and said he would love to live around here. We wish they would come join us! Last night we had a late steak dinner back at our house and this morning they came to worship with us at church. It was a fun weekend with lots of uplifting conversation about the gospel of Christ and marriage and family and friendships.

This picture was meant to have a caption to say something about how Vivian has found a secret play place in the kitchen. She loves to climb in and back out and play with the tupperware. We can also use it as a form of hide-and-seek or peekaboo! :) She gets so excited.

But as you have seen, Aaron already posted about it below, so nevermind!

We are getting so much closer to meeting our new baby! I had a good OB appointment yesterday. I am not dilated but he said the baby has dropped lower, and he said that was one hundred percent sure the baby is head-down. I asked for a sonogram just to make sure though, considering what happened when Vivian was born (he had previously for many weeks said she was head-down and they didn't find out until the last minute during labor that she wasn't). He agreed and thought it would also be a good idea so that we can check the baby's size (sometimes if baby is pretty big it can make a VBAC more difficult, he said). Sonogram is next week. I am more and more tired. I am not sleeping very well, which makes me nervous because I know how little sleep I will be getting next month, too! Other than that I feel great, and Vivian is enjoying having a little shelf to sit on when I hold her :)

The big move to upstairs is tonight, I promise! I have said that for two weeks now, but we are really ready this time (it mostly had to do with getting the AC to cool it down up there). Here is her new crib. Thanks to a tip from Shannon Maxey I was able to find this PB bedding at a consignment sale several months ago for very cheap and it's in great condition! I'm not totally finished with the room...I'll post pictures when I am.

Today while I was out Aaron made a lemon meringue pie for our Sunday School party this afternoon. It's his specialty...he got a great recipe from Nancy Bass several years ago. He was so proud he asked me to take a picture. check out those "whipped stiff peaks" :) Aaron told me that's what they're called...who knew?
