Well, actually, I read it to her, and it wasn't all 66 books...just this Storybook Bible that takes great stories starting from Genesis and points all to Christ, the Rescuer. This children's Bible has made me love God more! We started pretty soon after she came home, and finished yesterday. What a special thing for us to do together. I might start over from the beginning next week!

Yesterday Vivian saw Dr. Beazley for her one month check up. He had great news! She weighs 9 pounds, 3 ounces. That's almost 2 and half pounds gained in 5 weeks! He was so impressed and couldn't stop talking about it for the entire appointment. She is a great eater :)

This is one of her favorite things to do when awake. She likes to do it on my stomach most. She can lift her head up so that she's looking me in the face and can hold it for several minutes. She can look from side to side, too. She's been working on it for a couple of weeks!

On Sunday we had lunch with Lucas and Angela, Joey and Sierra, and Papa and Gramme. Lucas and Angela came from Lucama, NC to spend the weekend at the lake. It was our first time meeting Angela and we really enjoyed getting to know her!
Lucas knows about babies...his Hannah will be 3 in December. He had lots of stories and advice for us.
Vivian is going to have lots of good girlfriends at church! Macie Elizabeth was born July 19th to Jason and Judy Pierce. We pray for their future friendship :)
Yesterday we had a fun lunch with Shannon, Graham, and Carissa! Shannon has been living in Charlotte while her husband was in seminary, and now they are moving to Texas for a youth pastor position. What a fun one-year-old!

We met Aaron's Grandpa Hunter and Uncle David for breakfast one morning at the beach.

It wasn't her first time meeting Grandma, but it was the most time she's spent with her.
On the way back home, we passed by Lucama to have lunch with Granny.

Don't worry, we were only on the beach with her long enough to take these pictures. It was too hot for the little one! In fact, Monday for those 30 minutes was the only time we even went to the ocean.
It was so awesome to have a little family vacation, even if it was only for a day and a half. We got there Sunday afternoon and Aaron had to leave Tuesday morning to come back to work. My mom came down on Monday night and so Vivian and I stayed with her until Thursday.
While we were there, Vivian had her first bottle of breastmilk. She didn't have any problems! I am giving her a bottle once every couple of days just so she'll be accustomed to it. Last weekend we spent some time in Spring Hope with Aaron's family. Vivian did a great job traveling! We got there on Friday night and just relaxed until we left on Sunday for the beach. We had some helpful babysitters!
Also while we were there, I was able to go to Joy's baby shower. Little Seth is due to arrive August 22nd :) We can't wait to meet him, and I know Jonathan and Joy feel the same way! Seth got lots of great baby gear and clothes at the shower. 
This was the diaper bag that I had made for Joy. 
Susan and Ava were there and I was so glad...it was the first time I met Ava and she's 6 months old! 
On Saturday night we met Jonathan, Joy, Daniel, and Jonathan's mom and Tim at Chili's for dinner. It was awesome to catch up with them. We were glad that Vivian could meet them finally. We hope that Vivian and Seth will be good friends!

Hey everybody! I was one month old yesterday! Happy birthday to me.
To celebrate, I helped mom make my birth announcements all day long. I wasn't as excited about it as she was...can you tell?
This is boring, mom! Let's have a party for my two-month birthday.
We went to the lake this weekend and had a great time! Uncle Larry and Aunt Stella came to visit us from Lucama and they spent the day with us on the boat. It was very relaxing (except when Vivian had to eat...nursing on a rocking boat is not easy!) and I got a little sun finally.

Vivian slept most of the time, of course. How precious is this pose! On Friday Vivian and I went to visit the lactation consultant so that we could weigh her. She was up to 7 lbs, 13.5 oz! She's gaining a little more than an ounce a day. While we were there, Vivian ate. We weighed her before she ate and after, and she got 3.5 ounces in that one feeding! It was an encouraging morning.
Vivian had her first real bath last night. She loved it! She was so quiet and relaxed and just stared at us the whole time. Gramme helped...we definitely needed it for the first time!
Poor Vivian had been breech for so long during the pregnancy that she was born with her legs folded up over her head! Even the nurses were laughing at this. It's not an issue...the only time I notice it is when I'm changing her diaper and I get to the part where I have to velcro in the front...I have to push her legs down a little and she doesn't like that!
It's getting much better...for example, when I lay her down on her stomach, her legs start out like this:

After Vivian was born, I had a little crisis in the hospital...I had forgotten to pack some of my makeup. In my irrational state, I asked Aaron to go buy some for me at the nearest drugstore :). He came back with the makeup, and a gift! He had gone to the jewelry store and bought a pearl necklace for me. It was a very sweet gift to me. He is amazing.

Last night we had some fun visitors...the Montouris! If you remember, Antonio and Franco were two of my students. We had dinner together and shared Vivian. Antonietta made special gifts for us...a magnet frame and a photo album.
Sorry for the blog delay...our Internet is not working at the house. Yesterday for the holiday we relaxed at the house together as a family and then for dinner we went to the Cannon's for a 4th of July party. It was great to get out and see friends!

There was also a croquet game going on...fun to watch because there were a lot of first time players.

Vivian is so young that playtime is pretty simple...we read books, sing, go for walks. She is usually awake and alert for about 45 min. to an hour after eating, and I love it! She's so sweet.
This is the book Aaron is teaching on Sunday mornings to the high school students. When we were at State, we both went to hear D.A. Carson speak about the Intolerance of Tolerance and I remember his discourse being way over my head. But the book is easier to read and is very solid. It's about the urgent need of the church...prayer. Aaron just started but the students seem to be interested. Thanks for your prayers for this!
