This afternoon we're leaving for Va. Beach. We are meeting Aaron's parents and sister Brooke there to spend the holiday weekend, and Aaron and Mike are running the Rock 'N' Roll half marathon on Sunday. Last year Aaron ran 2:04...I'll let you know if he beats his time! I'll bring my USB cord with me in case there's a computer at the hotel and I will post some pictures.

Vivian turned 2 months old last Monday, but she had her check-up today. She did great with Dr. Beazley. She weighs 10 lbs, 11 oz (although she hadn't eaten much this morning before we went), she's 23 inches long, and her head is 15 1/2 inches in circumference. All of these stats put her in the 50th percentile for everything (her length was between 50th and 75th%).Of course she didn't care too much for the shots, but fell asleep soon after. We discovered that the small mark on her right jawline is in fact a birthmark, which may fade as the skin on her face gets thicker. We are very encouraged about her growth!
On Saturday Aaron and I went on a date...finally! Mom babysat for us while we went to the mall food court for dinner and then to the movies. We saw Swing Vote...pretty funny movie. I thought about Vivian a lot but knew she was in good hands :) It was awesome to relax with Aaron.

Erin Carroll and I worked on this project last week at the pottery store and I picked it up today. How sweet are those handprints and footprints! Vivian wasn't too happy about getting paint on her hands and having her hands pressed to the plate, but it was worth it to be able to add this to her room. Thanks for your help, Erin!
This is one of the toys Vivian received when we went to NC last weekend. Thanks Bill and Jill! It's great for tummy time. When she's on her back, she will only stare at the giraffe :)
Aaron sometimes swings by the house for a few minutes in the mornings after he goes to the bank. One day this week he caught a cat nap with Vivian.
(Michael has been in London all summer for a study abroad...I'll try to get one of his pictures to post)
Last night we went to The Outback to celebrate mom's birthday. It was her 636 month birthday on the same day as Vivian's 2 month birthday! It was great to have Michael back...we missed Stephen, though :(

Mom got several TV on DVD seasons to watch...I think I might join her some daysOn the way home from eastern NC we stopped in Raleigh to see Grandma and her new screened-in deck/back porch. It's awesome! We are looking forward to possible party scenes taking place here.
On Saturday we drove down to Spring Hope to celebrate Vivian with family. Peggy threw a shower for her and it was so much fun for us! We traveled well...this is what the little girl did the whole way down there: (I finally got this mirror put up and I love having it)

This is the beautiful fountain at the Flores house as you walk in the side door. My mom has done a great job with the landscaping! I think it's perfect and just had to share...
Gramme has been spending a lot of time with us lately and yesterday we went over to her house for the day. We worked on naptime, which is getting much better thanks to God's goodness and faithfulness. But mostly we had fun playing!
Here's a copy of Vivian's birth announcement. Thanks to Carissa, Debbie, and Sarah for helping me with these! On Friday around midnight Jonathan and Joy welcomed their precious boy, Seth Jonathan Morgan, to the world. 6 lbs, 11 oz, 20 inches. Thank God for his abundant grace!

We can't wait to meet him! Aaron continues to run every Saturday morning, but this morning was different. He was racing! He ran in the Salem 10K...pretty hilly, he said, but he finished well at around 52 minutes. Vivian and I walked to the finish line from our house (took about 30 minutes) and we all walked back home together. Then Aaron took us to get cheeseburgers :)
He has several more races coming up...a half marathon Labor Day weekend, a triathlon in October, and a marathon at the Outer Banks in November. He really enjoys it!
