We had a Mother's Day party in the backyard yesterday to celebrate together!

Hope everyone also had an enjoyable day with family.

It was also my birthday yesterday (30!).

Kate is crazy. Aaron got this pacifier for Hank but she stole it to be funny...although my mom and I agreed that she was using it as an excuse to have one in her mouth. She has been without a pacifier for almost a year but sometimes it seems like those things still have her under a spell!

We played a game in honor of mom, asking questions to match hers to see who knows her best. I think we all got the same questions right and the same questions wrong...hmmm...we could pay attention a little more :)

Check out the awesome wind chimes in the left of the picture. It was the gift of the day! Last week in Florida, Mom and I both commented on the wind chimes at the neighbor's house. So Joey and Tasha gifted me some for my birthday, and Stephen picked some up for Mom from all of us. They sound beautiful.

her first recital

Vivian had her first dance recital with the Dance Center of Southwest Virginia on Saturday.

It was such a sweet family event for us.

She has been anticipating her "Cinderella ballet" for many months and she knew it was a special day.

Her class is the youngest. There were 6 of them...little fairies to dance with the Fairy Godmother.

They are so precious to us.

Our faithful family was in attendance :) Stephen and Michael came from Richmond, and Mike, Peggy, Ben, and Brooke drove up from NC...we were so thankful to have them.

She insisted that I take a picture of her fairy wings...she loved the costume so much.

It was a busy end of the week getting ready for the recital, but I was able to spend some extra one-on-one time with my almost-5-year-old so it was worth the chaos!

We love our beautiful ballerina and were so impressed with the production!

first and second days

This weekend we were in Clearwater, Florida!

Be patient with me while I try to document our trip, dividing the posts by the days. I took 476 pictures and so it is taking some time to go through them and post them!

We met at the airport around noon on Thursday and didn't have to wait too long to get on the plane...long enough for the baby boys to meet each other! This is Brennan. He is a few weeks older than Hank and so sweet.

The girls carried their "church bags" as their carry-ons. Thanks, Mrs. Pat!

The girls did well. They kept themselves entertained, or were easily distracted by Mommy. Kate had a few moments of desperation when she was thirsty, and it seemed like it took forever for the drink cart to come around, but other than that it was as smooth as could be with 3 little ones.

Gramme and Papa helped keep the baby occupied.

He didn't last long...I had to take him in to the bathroom to swing and bounce and hold him tight until he gave up and fell asleep. Others on the plane were thankful, I'm sure.
